Fit SW Review - Online Personal Training Software

fit sw review

Fit SW is a software solution for personal trainers, designed to help them manage and grow their businesses, all through a simple portal or app.

The idea behind the software is to let you communicate with all your clients in one place, track their progression, and manage your timetable admin-free. But is it any good? Let’s take a look.

Fit SW Features

Like most personal trainer apps in its class, Fit SW comes with a plethora of features designed to help make your life as easy as possible. The aim, according to the developers, is to help you save time, grow your business, and maximize the success of your clients. Check out our FitSW review to see what’s on offer?

1.  Workout builder:

The Fit SW workout builder is a tool that you can use in the app to design training schedules for clients. The software gives users the ability to personalize workouts at the individual level, instead of shoehorning them into more generic routines.

2.  Exercise library:

Fit SW’s exercise library contains more than 1,000 exercise demos that you can watch and include in workout routines. There’s also a facility that allows you to create your own. The library is ideal for any trainer who hasn't created their own.

3.  Nutrition and meal planning:

The nutrition and meal planner allows personal trainers to track clients’ food intake, create meal plans, and generate daily nutritional summaries.

4.  Client management:

The client management feature is a little bit like a CRM tool, allowing you to collect all your client information in one place and access it from any internet-connected device through the cloud.

4.  Client files and forms:

Trainers often need to get their clients to fill out forms, like the PAR-Q. Fit SW streamlines the process by letting them do it online. The software then reports back to you who has filled out what and stores all the documents on a secure, third-party server.

5.  Schedule and calendar:

The scheduling and calendar tools let a client see when you’re available, making it easy to arrange client sessions. The calendar tool is also dynamic, allowing you to change it whenever you have a change of schedule. Clients can request sessions through the app and see when you’re available.

6.  Progress tracking graphs:

Personal trainers must be able to show their clients that they’re making progress towards their body goals. Fit SW’s development tracking graphs allow you to follow things like weight loss or bicep circumference over time and provide your clients with proof your strategies are working. Progress reports offer additional motivation, encouraging them to continue using your services.

7.  Progress photos:

If progress graphs aren't enough to showcase your client results, have them upload their before and after pics. Again, this feature helps to keep clients motivated and engaged so that they can see the difference that your service is making to their body.

8.  Goal and task tracking:

Personal trainers sometimes need to keep track of client goals and tasks. An exerciser, for instance, might have a goal of losing “forty pounds before summer.”

Fit SW allows you to track practically any objective you like, from resolutions to climb one hundred steps per day to not eating any junk food. You can then use the data you collect to motivate clients.

9.  Custom branding:

Personal Trainers depend heavily on solid branding. It’s something they use to differentiate themselves from the competition.

This is why Fit SW offers a suite of customization tools, allowing trainers to insert whatever logos and colors they please. The app functionality remains the same, but the skin looks entirely different. You get a wholly unique look.

10.  Blog and content management:

If you consider yourself to be a bit of an expert in the fitness industry or just want to share your story with clients, then the Fit SW blog and content management facility is handy.

When you create a blog through the platform, the software makes it visible to all of the clients in your network automatically. It also lets you schedule posts and remove content you no longer want to display.

11.  Studio/team accounts:

The Fit SW studio and team accounts allow you to manage and review the accounts of individual personal trainers in your network or business. Just sign in with your administrator credentials, and you can see their activity down to the level of individual workouts.

12.  Real-time messaging:

Having all client information at your fingertips but being forced to message them using another app is clumsy.

Fit SW knows this, which is why the developers include an in-app messaging service, offering two-way communication between trainers and customers. The way it works is easy: you just click the client button and start typing your message.

13.  Automated emails:

The automated email feature allows you to send automatic reminders to your clients about upcoming training sessions, new meal plans, tasks, and pretty much anything else you like.

The primary purpose of the tool is to boost compliance, but it is also helpful for things like up selling or subtly encouraging clients to take on more sessions each week.

14.  Payments:

Fit SW software allows trainers to take payments through the app instead of having to make separate arrangements.

The system makes payments surprising easy by integrating with web-based facilities with the software. Customers can click a single button to transfer money from their digital wallet to yours.

Fit SW Strengths

The biggest strength of Fit SW compared to other apps in its class is the sheer comprehensiveness of the service. One of the most common software complaints among trainers is the need to use multiple apps and FiTSW might just have you fully covered.

The scope of the functionality of the app is impressive too. Not only is it a tool for collecting payments and messaging your clients, but it also provides marketing opportunities, such as blog posting and email automation.

While it is not a complete solution, it does give you a broad array of services that will suit all but the most aggressive personal trainers.

The app also offers a high level of support. If you get stuck choosing exercises for clients, for instance, there’s an entire library waiting to inspire you. There's also a helpline and a resource page.

Here are some quickfire strengths of Fit SW:
  • Large repertoire of exercises
  • Marketing integration
  • Integrated messaging alongside client information
  • Integrated scheduling and calendar that syncs with client accounts
  • Oversight tools for studios and team accounts
  • No contract required; cancel anytime
  • Free for up to two clients

Fit SW Weaknesses

No personal trainer app, however, is ever perfect. While Fit SW offers a host of impressive solutions, some of the features are a but sub par in terms of their quality and easy of use.

For example, the exercise library is huge but the quality of the videos, while they'll do the job, sometimes don't seem as high quality as they could be.

The exercise planner offers full customization, this comes at the cost of usability. It can take a long time to create a routine from scratch when you build it through the app.

Here are some quickfire weaknesses of Fit SW:
  • A lack of comprehensive marketing solutions for SEO, outreach or trainer website promotion
  • Requires clients to download and install the app or log into their Fit SW account via the browser
  • The exercise planner tool sacrifices usability in favor of customization
  • You can only add up to two clients for free; if you want more, you must pay.

Fit SW is also ideal for any gyms, studios, and agencies that manage teams of personal trainers. The admin tools let you delve into the details of what each trainer is doing, streamlining management, and improving oversight.
